Alex Isik approached us to create a boutique Turkish restaurant for the new Queen's Rise precinct.

We wanted to convey a refined and distinguished sense of luxury without hindering Nazar Group's custom approachability.

Ottoman Mezze Lounge is a concept created around Ancient Ottoman feasts set in a cigar lounge environment. Pairing rich burgundy leathers with dark teak timber, emerald green marble and brass accents.

For the branding, we took an art-centric approach using elements of the commissioned mural for the collateral and water gold leaf gilding for the signage. The Logo emblem was designed to emulate the Ottoman Empire emblem in a modern, simplified style.
For the feature element, we designed and painted a stylised Ottoman mural on an eroded/ distressed plaster surface rendered by Paul Ny.
We took inspiration from 16th century Ottoman art period, using flattened perspective, stylised/simplified figures and 24 carat gold leaf embellishments.
We designed, painted and installed the artwork with Hayley Brown as Art Director, Paul Ny art Lead Painter and myself as assistant painter. I also handled the patterns, textiles and gilding.

The overall look and feel has the essence of comfortable luxury paired with personality and history.
