We were approached by Nazar Group to oversee the branding and fitout for their Devonport Wharf tennancy.
​
Working closely with AT Transport we developed refined 'Mediterranean Resort' environment paired with European Settler elements.
​
The aim for DOTW was to elevate the public perception of Turkish cuisine from street-side kebabs to exotic gastronomic delights.
​
Public communication was key for the success of the venue. As much as visitors were an important target market for us, the local market would make or break us. The longevity of new venues in Devonport were minimal, and with the investment Nazar Group was making into the area, we needed to ensure we connected and involved the local community with on a personal level.
​
We spoke to local residents about what what they wanted. We invited the local Iwi to see our plans for the space. We were honoured to have them bless the venue before opening. We hosted community events, local weddings, family days and more.
​
I personally handled the Brand Development, Public Communications and Art Direction of the fit out. We also personally designed and commissioned the outdoor furniture with Wild Poetry Ltd.
